Patient profile and the challenge
A male patient was troubled by his receding hairline and extensive crown hair loss. He approached Dr Bonaros to find a reliable and effective solution to address the hair thinning that negatively impacted his self-image.
The primary concern with this case was to tackle the patient’s advancing crown hair loss and receding hairline. Both of these areas are key to a youthful and natural look.
Hair Transplant Strategy and combined approach
Dr Bonaros developed a tailored treatment plan focusing on restoring the hairline and mid-scalp areas while preserving the crown for future treatment if needed. This resulted in a two-day Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant procedure. A total of 3,796 grafts (8,241 hairs) were used to maximise coverage and achieve a natural look.
Given the extent of the hair loss, Dr Bonaros included non-invasive treatments in the plan to enhance the transplant and promote follicular health.
From Dr Bonaros
In this case, we deliberately prioritised restoring the frontal hairline and the mid-scalp. The front of the hairline is aesthetically the most important area - it frames the face, defines your profile, and restores a youthful appearance in every interaction.
By focusing our graft placement here, we achieved a high-impact, natural result. While this strategy meant accepting lighter coverage on the crown, this compromise allows us to safely preserve the donor area while delivering the most significant and transformative aesthetic improvement where it matters most.
