Confronting the challenge of a high hairline, this female patient approached our clinic seeking effective treatment options.
Many women suffer from high hairlines, either due to receding hairlines as a result of female pattern baldness or because they were born with hairlines that do not frame their faces correctly. The patient was very self-conscious about her high hairline and was looking for ways to address it.
The Challenge
The patient presented several challenges that needed to be overcome to provide an artistic and aesthetically superb result:
- High Contrast: The high contrast between the patient’s hair color and skin color necessitated high graft density to achieve good coverage.
- Thin Hair in the frontal area: The patient had very thin hair, which required expertise to create a frontal hairline that appears soft, graduated, and absolutely natural.
- Frontal Hairline Reconstruction: The patient’s frontal hairline had an extensive cowlick that needed to be reconstructed to look natural. This is a daunting task, suitable only for highly experienced surgeons.
Hair Transplant Strategy
A frontal hair transplant was planned to address the high hairline. Using 1,765 grafts, equating to 3,659 hairs, they were strategically placed in the frontal area and between her existing hairs.
The goals were:
- To create naturalness and good coverage
- To frame her face appropriately by reducing the distance between her frontal hairline and eyebrows

The surgery delivered outstanding results:
- Natural Appearance: The patient’s new hairline looked natural and undetectable.

From the very beginning, the entire experience was fantastic. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and explained every step of the process in great detail
The procedure was surprisingly comfortable, with minimal discomfort during and after the surgery. The recovery went well, and I was provided with clear instructions and a goody bag to take away to aid my recovery.

Dr Epameinondas Bonaros and his colleague Catrina were excellent and very informative and helpful prior to my hair transplant procedure on December 8th last year. Dr Bonaros has been very helpful and supportive since my procedure last year and I've had a few appointments with him to review my progress and is always at the end of a phone and/or message to speak to if I have any queries and/or information. After I had my review this week as it was over a year on since I had my transplant done, I can say I'm very pleased with the results. I'm very happy how my implanted hair has progressed and grown. It's helped me rebuild my confidence in myself and I feel a part of my identity has been restored and that's a big thanks to both Dr Bonaros and Catrina and I'll never be able to thank them enough. I visited Dr Bonaros as I was experiencing some hair loss. The doctor didn’t go for the “easy” solution of a transplant but instead recommended a conservative treatment with affordable medication at no gain for him.
By following his advice I saw great results, hence avoiding a costly hair transplant.

Right from the beginning Dr Bonaros and his staff have been amazing before going into the procedure I was nervous but helped me settle in really well which I was grateful for and during the procedure he would ask if I’m ok it was great . Dr Bonaros speaks very honestly and will go further into details about what my hair would look like in the future. After the procedure after 3-4 months I noticed growth within the transplanted area and I could say I really did help build up my confidence up whereas before I was always wearing a cap😂. Dr Bonaros is a highly skilled hair restoration surgeon. He performed an FUE procedure for me to restore my hairline and the results are simply amazing.
