Hair Transplant Case Study: Comprehensive Approach in Advanced Hair Loss
Patient Profile
A 35-year-old male patient presented with extensive hair loss in the frontal and mid-scalp regions, as well as pronounced thinning at the crown. This was classified as stage 6 on the Norwood scale. Despite his significant hair loss, this patient had good donor hair density and excellent hair quality.
The Challenge
The main goal was to address the balding area across the patient’s scalp and ensure that new hair would blend seamlessly to create a natural appearance. Due to the patient’s age and the progressive nature of his hair loss, there was also a need for a sustainable post-transplant maintenance regimen.
Hair Transplant Strategy
Taking the patient’s hair quality and donor hair density into account, Dr Bonaros performed an advanced Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) hair transplant. A total of 4,033 grafts (8,024 individual hairs) were transplanted to the most affected areas. This strategic placement aimed to achieve maximum coverage and restore a convincingly natural look.
Combined Approach
Considering the patient’s young age and risk of further hair loss, Dr Bonaros prescribed a
combination hair loss therapy. This tailored treatment plan aimed to maintain the patient’s existing hair, supplement the transplant results, and prevent additional hair loss.
End Results
The hair transplant procedure and post-operative treatment led to a major improvement, with successful graft survival rates. This resulted in substantial hair regrowth in previously bald areas. The combination therapy also proved effective in maintaining existing hair, and the patient enjoyed significant cosmetic enhancement and psychological upliftment.
Patient Feedback
The patient expressed positive feedback about the care he received at the Dr Bonaros Hair Transplant Clinic, especially regarding the preservation of his existing hair. The successful management of this patient’s hair loss helped improve his confidence and outlook on life.
