A 60-year-old male (classified as Norwood 6) presented with advanced hair loss. He came to our clinic hoping to regain a fuller head of hair. His main objective was to achieve comprehensive coverage while considering the quality of his donor area.
The Challenge
The main challenge was managing severe hair loss while making the most of the limited donor hair available. As the patient wanted full coverage, we had to take a strategic approach. We prioritised the most visible areas and left room for potential future treatments.
Hair Restoration Treatment Plan
Dr Bonaros and the team took a two-step treatment plan.
- Surgical Intervention: During a two-day Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) procedure, Dr Bonaros transplanted 3,524 grafts, equivalent to 7,610 hairs. The focus was on creating an age-appropriate hairline and covering the frontal and mid-scalp regions. We reserved the crown for a follow-up treatment after the donor area had time to recover.
- Medical Treatment: In addition to the surgical plan, we prescribed oral Minoxidil to enhance hair growth and improve the overall outcome of the procedure.
Results
The results were highly satisfactory, offering the patient impressive coverage and a natural, undetectable appearance. His restored hairline and improved density in the frontal areas were notable, while the mid-scalp areas exceeded expectations. He has recently undergone a procedure to address the crown area, and we will soon update this page with his transformative results.

Right from the beginning Dr Bonaros and his staff have been amazing before going into the procedure I was nervous but helped me settle in really well which I was grateful for and during the procedure he would ask if I’m ok it was great . Dr Bonaros speaks very honestly and will go further into details about what my hair would look like in the future.
